Ringway's School Council 2025
What is the School Council?
Our School Council works to make improvements to our school and the way we do things at Ringway. We believe that each child should have a voice and that our voices should be heard. We are always on the lookout for ways we could improve our school for every pupil. Each member gets a chance to speak and have their thoughts heard and when we have finished, we vote on the best ideas and then we can start working on the changes.
Who are the School Councillors?
Every year we run an election campaign to vote for a new representative from each class. This year we have allocated two Councillors for each class in years 3 to 6. A good School Councillor will speak up at the meetings and raise the issues and interests of their class mates. They will also feedback to their class about the meetings and be role models for the rest of the school.

Parliament Week - November 2025
In November, our school was proud to take part in UK Parliament Week, a national event that encourages young people to engage with democracy and understand how our government works. Throughout the week, pupils took part in a range of exciting activities that helped bring Parliament to life.
Children enjoyed debating key issues, developing their confidence in speaking, listening, and forming balanced arguments—essential skills for active citizenship. Inspired by Claude Monet’s famous artwork, they also created stunning oil pastel pieces of the Houses of Parliament, exploring colour, texture, and artistic expression.
In addition, classes produced detailed drawings of Parliament, showing great attention to architectural features, and wrote thoughtful acrostic poems that reflected their understanding of democracy, leadership, and the importance of having a voice.
It was a fantastic week of creativity, learning, and discussion. We are delighted with how engaged and enthusiastic our children were, and we look forward to continuing to empower them as informed and active members of society.
Road Safety Week 2025
During Road Safety Week, we had a workshop with Mark from Biffa where we learned how to be Road Safety Heroes! We helped Mr Taylor close Rossett Avenue and manage traffic around the school.
