Our Vision

At Ringway, numeracy is the jewel in our academic crown. In recent years, our Maths results have been among the best in the country and this is due to us fostering a love for numbers from Early Years right through to year 6.

Although the foundation of our maths scheme is tightly linked with the White Rose Curriculum, we amalgamate those lesson plans with other exceptional resources to create a scheme of work totally unique to Ringway. Our fluency in the understanding of the main numerical operations is taught through an ‘I do, We do, You do’ system which allows pupils to take an active part in every input session. The ownership of assessment is then passed over to the children who can choose which level of work they would like to attempt. As we teach to the top, we always encourage our children to test themselves with gold and platinum challenges, whilst remaining mindful that not all learners have confidence in number from the off. Bronze and silver challenges allow those children to build up a resilience in number and this is supplemented by the support of our exceptional teaching staff.

Our goal is to ensure that each child leaves Ringway with a solid understanding of number and the skills needed to apply this to their everyday lives.

Times Tables Rockstars

As part of our mission to ensure fluency in timestables, we host an annual Times Tables Rockstar concert which allows our children to showcase their talents (but most importantly, allows the teachers to dress up). Over the years this has been super successful and has really inspired our learners to go above and beyond with the goal of becoming a ‘Rock Icon’.

My Money Week & Enterprise Day

Money matters and the understanding of its value is something that we are passionate about at Ringway. Each summer, we hold an enterprise day where each class is given an amount of money to invest with the goal of turning it into profit. This is a whole school event and it allows our aspiring entrepreneurs to shine, as for one day only, our school playground becomes a Wall Street trading floor with lots of various money-making schemes taking place.
