Mr Fountain

Hello and welcome to Year 1. We are an enthusiastic and experienced team that enjoy seeing the children’s development flourish and thrive throughout the year. Our setting is a positive, stimulating and calming learning environment where the children can build and extend on their learning. We aim to enhance a love of learning with the children through linking their learning to their interests and giving them the tools, they need to solve problems.
To find out what we will be learning this term, please see our Spring term newsletter.

From seasonal changes to olden day toys, we teach a broad and balanced curriculum giving children opportunities to learn about the past, the world around them and how things work. In Autumn the children will design a fruit and vegetable smoothie, learn about everyday materials and the opportunity to using computers to create label, lists and captions.
To find out what else we will learn this year, please see our curriculum map.
Step inside our classroom by viewing our class Twitter page @PrimaryRingway and search #class1P, you can even see us on Facebook by searching Ringway Primary School.
We can’t wait to share our news with you and hope you enjoy celebrating with us this year.
Thanks from Mrs Pepper, Mrs Richards and the children in year 1P.
Art
The year 1 children have created some amazing art work based on The Great Fire of London. The children created a fire effect using shaving foam and ink. They pressed the paper onto the foam and then squeegeed the remaining foam off the paper. To create the tudor houses the children created a house shaped template, rolled black ink on top and printed another layer on top of their fire print. The children loved watching the process unfold and discovering how their print evolved and changed.
